I have Stuff I want to post about, but I don't have time, so instead you guys get this post.

I feel dead today. Tired from not falling asleep, yes, but also just bone-tired like I ran a marathon yesterday. I think it's allergies. My hypothesis is that allergies prevent me from breathing properly (what with the concrete-stuffed sinuses blocking nasal airways) so my body is deprived of oxygen, so I'm all sluggish. I have absolutely no idea how scientifically sound it is (or probably isn't), but the google search button is all the way over there so... that's not really gonna happen.

In other, non-book related news-

- I signed up for Daring Cooks. I'm not quite brave enough for Daring Bakers yet, but I'm pretty confident in my cooking ability. The first challenge will be posted in a few weeks and I can't wait! I hope it is something awesome.

- My bathroom is so clean, it s*p*a*r*k*l*e*s. You need sunglasses in there, guys, it's that sparkly.

- Not only did I do my laundry today, but I got up early to do it. Well, 9am. That's early on a Saturday when I don't have to be anywhere. I had to set my alarm! And I did it so I could do laundry, which I hate! This is just further proof that I rock.

- Tomorrow I am going to read the next Sookie Stackhouse novel. The whole thing. It's only 342 pages. I have got to get caught up on my "To Read" stack!

- I still can't believe I actually woke up early so I could do laundry. This day should be marked on the calendar and celebrated worldwide. With parades. And balloons for everyone.

- I picked all the meat off my rotisserie chicken, and I am going to freeze the carcass so I can later make homemade stock, to use to make risotto. I've never had risotto before, and I've never made stock before, but I'm determined to do this because it sounds fancy and complicated. And all the cool [livejournal.com profile] cooking kids do it, so clearly I need to.

- I have been awake for far too many hours. I meant to go to bed ages ago, but it kind of forgot to happen. Oops. Good night!

I'm so dang tired.

Last night was the DFW region's NIGHT OF WRITING DANGEROUSLY and it was a blast. I left work early to get some stuff done, and I showed up just before 7pm with freshly baked cookies, ranch-garlic-yummy pretzels, stickers, caffeine, and probably some other stuff that I can't remember. I logged everyone's word count at the beginning of the night, and then as people left I got their final word count, and all of us together wrote over 3 full novels. There were 32 people there, including me and Criss (who does not have a LJ but she is the ML and she is way cool), and it was so much fun. People brought lots of food and caffeine for sharing, and Criss and I ran word wars and sold plot ideas to raise money for NaNoWriMo. I only wrote 3357 words, but I finished at exactly 30,006 words, which is Day 18's goal, so I'm okay with not writing so much.

And then at 7am this morning, we left, and I crashed hardcore on my couch, only to wake up at 1:50pm for my 2-5 write-in at Coffee Haus. Jeni was the only one who came, but this was okay because it meant I didn't feel bad leaving half an hour early to go home and be brain dead.

Oh, and at Coffee Haus, there was a guy who looked like he could have been a very young John Linnell. Or maybe Linnell's cousin or something. It was weird and kind of wigged me out.

Anyways, yes. Fun times were had, much was written, and now I'm beat. I managed to fight off naps all day, but I think it's nearing bedtime as I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Oh, but before I go, you all need to go harangue Jess, because her word count is pitiful. I've dared her to only check her word count once a week, and as of Friday night after work her word count was 10 days behind. Ridiculous! This is the girl who wrote a novel in a WEEK, and once did 100k for NaNo. I've already banned her from hooping for the next week, and if her word count is still low next Friday then it'll be another week. (I've picked a threshold, by the way, but I'm not telling her because she won't be able to check it anyways. Suffice to say she needs to type like a MADWOMAN this next week if she wants to hoop)

Anyways, yes. To bed! And then tomorrow I'm going to write at least 2000 before I go to gamestop to pick up Animal Crossing: City Folk. I cannot wait. It will be AWESOME.

This weekend was kind of busy!

Except for Friday night. Friday I came home and was asleep by 6pm. I woke up at 10am the next morning. Whoasleep.

Saturday afternoon, I took Hawking to her first vet visit. I got her all signed up for the Kitten Plan, and they gave her her first shots after doing some tests. She was NOT a happy kitty. She's pretty whiny anyways (she gets really pathetic when she is tired and wants in my lap) but when they took her back to draw her blood and do the "fecal exam" she yowled as if they were murdering her. I knew it was coming because a coworker took her brother and he did the same thing, but it was still sad to hear. But when they brought her back into the room it was funny because her leg and butt were wet from the rubbing alcohol swab, and it was pretty obvious she'd put up a fight. I knew she would, she's a feisty little thing. They they gave her ringworm some other kind of medicine (apparently she had ringworms something) and her shots, and she whined about both (I think she was more complaining about being held still, because she didn't noticeably flinch at the shot like it hurt her) and then clung to me so they wouldn't CRUELLY TORTURE her anymore. Poor thing has no idea she has to go back in three weeks. She was fine as soon as she got home, though, and took right to tackling Tesla's head as if she'd never been gone. I'm sure Tesla was thrilled to have her back.

By the way, Hawking thinks her name is STOPIT. Tesla was doing something the other night, and I said "STOP IT" in my Serious Voice, and from across the room I hear Hawking's little "Mrow?" and I laffed.

Saturday night, I went to Tom's Burgers with [livejournal.com profile] sparklyaria, [livejournal.com profile] gutterballjen, [livejournal.com profile] kandigurl, and [livejournal.com profile] auracel (Brandy, Jeni, Jess, and Megan, respectively) for dinner and had a delicious burger, then Jeni, Brandy and I went to see Prince Caspian and I completely fangirled over Reepicheep. I LOVE YOU REEPICHEEP. It made my heart happy to see him on the screen, complete with red feather on his circlet, and OMG THEY HAD TINY MOUSEY BAGPIPES and yeah that was pretty much awesome. Also, I really kept waiting for Caspian to deliver Inigo Montoya's line.

THEN. I slept, and today I did a whole lot of nothing (reading mostly) and then went to babysit for a coworker and had fun playing with the kiddo. And then I came home and now I should go to bed before work tomorrow but I don't wanna. I was practically falling asleep while I was babysitting, and now I'm wide awake. Thanks, brain.

EDIT: Okay, so apparently it was NOT ringworms that Hawking had. Ringworms are the highly contagious, makes-fur-fall-out Bad Things. She had something else I can't remember. My memory fails SO HARD.

14 hours?

I just woke up about half an hour ago after sleeping for about 14 hours. I fell asleep on my couch for about 2 hours, woke up at about 8:30pm and went to bed. Woke up at about 8:30am, mostly because I really really had to go to the bathroom.

Of course, now I'm stiff, sore, and headachey, thanks to my crappy craptastic bed. But well-rested, for the first time in what seems like a month! I've taken some ibuprofen for the soreness and headacheness, and I'm going to shower to see if I can't unstiffen some muscles. Then I should probably eat, because I fell asleep before I ate dinner last night. Oops. Luckily my body hasn't realized this yet, but once it does I'm in trouble.

Oh, also, replacement phone came in the mail yesterday. That whole situation was weird, getting that phone. AT&T is weird. But whatever, I have a phone that hopefully works better. Yesterday it (the old one) was being really super flaky- it wouldn't receive texts until way later, if it received them at all, and didn't want to make phone calls. Bah. So, uh, if I ignored a text/call, it wasn't me, it was my phone.

edit: I slept again from about 10am to 1pm. So I have spent 17 of the last 24 hours sleeping. Dang.

Guys, moving is a lot of work.

I've been pretty exhausted since the weekend, thus the lack of posting. I'm slowly getting things unpacked. My books are unpacked, and my computer obviously, and about half of my kitchen stuff. I did two loads of laundry last night, I have 2-3 more in my trunk to do tomorrow. At some point I'm going to pick up a TV and I'm going to get my new entertainment center all set up, that will be cool.

I'm really tired.

I "beat" Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol last night. By "beat" I mean I saw the credits. There's still more to the game. I love that game. So ridiculous, really, but so cute and fun and wonderful.

I feel like I have more to say, but I'm just so tired. I'm going to bed.

The fun part of working Saturdays and Sundays is how it really screws with my sense of time and what day it is. Right now it feels like it is midnight on a Friday night- I'm tired and ready to go to bed and sleep in. But no! Tomorrow is Monday, the beginning of a new week. Never mind that this week didn't have an end, the next one is ready and rarin' to go!

Yeah, I got no packing done this weekend. Ha! I am so made of win.

HEY JESS (and also everyone else) YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT THE LATEST EPISODE OF THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS' VIDEO PODCAST FOR KIDS. They did an animation for "I Never Go To Work" and it is A MILLION KINDS OF AWESOME. There are trumpets! And a rhinoceros!

Here, have a poll:

Hello 2am.

I hate you.

Well, right NOW I really hate you. If it was a Friday night, and I didn't have to work tomorrow and then go from work to babysitting, I wouldn't hate you. But it isn't Friday night, and I do have a full day tomorrow, so.

I hate you. Kind of a lot.

(Tomorrow is going to be a long day. I'm still wiiiiiide awake. I spent all day being sleepy, but of course now I cannot sleep. Awesome.)

I guess I was tired last night!

I got home around 6, started some downloads and ate some dinner, then laid down to take a nap at about 7. My plan was to nap, then run to the store for some things I need and get stuff done last night.

I, uh, just woke up. 13 hours later.

I'm a little groggy.

Also, I think I had several dreams that are going to pop up later as memories. You know, the kind of dreams that are so stupid you forget them, but so realistic that later you remember them and think they happened? Like, one of them I was watching a video on a display in a store for Super Mario Galaxy, and I turned to my parents and said, "Oh, that's exactly the game I want!" That was it, nothing else, but when I woke up I thought i had really happened and couldn't remember when I had been in a store with them to have had this happen.

Oh my.
