TORNADO

So I'm sittin' here, looking for a nice Firefox theme, and I notice it's kinda rainy outside, so I check wunderground and see this:

THE STORM HOOKS IT IS A HOOKER.

See that dot, right by the 'h' of "Fort Worth"? That's about where I am.

See how the storm is hooking right there? That's tornado activity.

So. I turned off the computer and turned on the TV. Luckily the tornado turned north right before it got to my immediate area, so the worst I got was some heavy rain.

So, uh, yeah. TORNADOES.

And there is another storm coming later tonight. WOO.

Yeah. It skipped around and wasn't huge, but it did damage. So far it looks like it's mostly commercial, but some houses were hit, too.

As an Arlington inhabitant who happened to stumble onto your journal.. I just moved here 3 weeks ago and I've already been through 2 siren-blaring tornado warnings with hail. I think this state likes me.

And as scary as it is.. it's exciting.. if only to use my "bbl, tornados" message on AIM.

Yeah, that storm last week gave me a bit o' hail, but overall is was a little baby storm. It puttered out and the tornado it produced hit exactly one house.

Ugh! I'm glad it missed you. This California girl is not looking forwards to her first tornado.

They are not really so bad unless it hits you directly. I've had them pass within a few miles and it's nothing more than a big storm.

I'll second this. 98% of the reason that Tornadoes are scary is due to their unpredictability. They're really nothing but a couple of clouds and wind on steroids.

Scary, scary night in my neck of the woods. It was one nasty storm. Glad it's all over and done with.

P.S. Stole your radar pic for my post about tonight. :)

It came over me too. But, nothing happened. If something ever does though. Get to lowest ground and lock yourself in a bathroom with no windows and hug the plumbing...

Yeah, I was about to grab the cat and hide out in my bathroom, but really just as I noticed the rain getting heavy it turned away from me.
