My birthday has been amazing.
It started yesterday, when my coworkers did my food day (the standard birthday celebration- everyone brings food and we get fat) a day early since our boss was gone today and didn't want to miss it. So that was cool. And then TODAY, I got a MONEY CHAIN and it was AWESOME.
For those of you not in the know, a money chain is the best workplace birthday tradition ever. One person pins a $1/5/10 bill on the birthday person's shirt, and then for the rest of the day people add more dollars, usually by stapling each dollar to the bottom of the last one on the chain. I've never gotten one before, for one reason or another (accounting was a boring dept, last year my coworkers gave me a crapton of money collectively, etc) so I was pretty pumped. I made it look really long by stapling each dollar as far down on the last one as possible. It reached my knees :D :D :D
I'm now going to use my $15 of birthday money to order a pizza. A birthday pizza. Of yumminess. Oh yes.
OH! And! I have decided that it would be cool if you could have an extra birthday every year, one that you could choose the day. That way, if you're feeling blue, you could say "HEY, I'M HAVING MY EXTRA BIRTHDAY NEXT TUESDAY" and then you would get all sorts of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!" messages and cards and emails and calls and BAM no more feeling blue. Someone needs to work on getting this made official.
