Whew. I've been working on this entry for over an hour! Geez louise. Time for bed!

I cleaned today. I went on a mad cleaning frenzy. I vacuumed, I rearranges, I made three trips to the dumpster with loads of junk, I rearranged my bookshelf, I reclaimed my closet*, I cleaned my kitchen, and I just generally tidied things up. Dang it looks nice in here. Now I just need a light bulb for the main light in my living room and I'm set.



I also knit my flat swatch for Rogue. I love these colors together. I'm doing the sweater in the heathery brown color, and the cables in the red, green, and blue. I need to sit down with the pattern and color in my charts or something so I can figure out which colors are going where. I'm thinking about doing something pretty with the pocket, but I can't decide what. I've got intarsia down pat now, so maybe I'll make a design on the front or something. I just need to figure out what it will be.

I knit the swatch while watching Indiana Jones. I have never seen these movies before, and when I told this to a coworker she brought me all three of them the very next day. I watched the first two tonight, and they are very much fun. I'm going to watch the third tomorrow while I knit the round swatch, and I'm looking forward to it :D

Of course, while I was watching them, any time they played the theme song I could only hear these lyrics, which was interesting.

*A while ago I had the bright idea to stick my cats' litter box in my closet, since I don't use it for clothes and stuff. That was not a bright idea after all. It didn't work out. This is why I later bought the golden dome litter box and just closed the closet door until I felt like tossing the old litter box. Which I did today. And then I vacuumed and went to town with the Febreeze.

Accomplished today:
- Cleaned/rearrange my big closet
- Taped down a spare sheet in the back corner of said huge closet
- Moved big catbox into said corner
- Cleaned out coat closet that used to house said catbox
- Tossed tiny catbox that was in said coat closet
- use the word "said far too many times"
- Cleaned off my junk table
- Went through everything that was in my big closet and tossed half of it
- Packed the rest of the stuff into just one box and put it back in the closet
- Swept & mopped my kitchen
- Cleaned all the counters in my kitchen
- Took three bags of trash and one box of junk to the dumpster
- Vaccuumed living room
- Got my Wii, DVD Player, and borrowed PS2 plugged in to my new switchy thingy
- Realized that I didn't have a cable to go from the switchy thingy to the TV
- Drove to Best Buy only to discover that their hours of operation posted online are LIES
- Cursed Best Buy for utterly failing me for the second time in as many weeks
- Did laundry

All in all, a productive day! Should maybe fold my clean laundry, though. Hum.

So I started cleaning out my closet (because who needs clean laundry?) and as I'm going through the junk, my cats are having a field day. There's boxes to chew on, and trash to chase down and pull out of the trash box! And on top of that, I keep finding toys (I'm cleaning my whole apartment, actually, and I might even vacuum later on) and throwing them around, and both of them are very happy about this.

I'll have to take pictures once I get everything all clean. So far I've got two bags and one box full of trash/junk, and I'm piling stuff on my couch to give away. Woot!

Something in my walls keeps making tea kettle noises.

Just every once in a while. I think it's only happened two or three times since I've moved in. It's a weird tea-kettle-ey whistling noise, it goes for about a minute then stops.

Guys, if my apartment explodes and I die, will one of y'all feed Tesla?


edit: Also, my thumb hurts where I sliced it. I think it might fall off. I don't need my left thumb, do I?

Picture time! I've got almost everything unpacked and where I want it, so I took PICTURES. Pictures of my empty new apartment, pictures of my old apartment as I emptied it, and then pictures of unpacking, and then finally FINAL PICTURES. No final pictures of bedroom yet, though, because the laundry is kind of everywhere because I'm using my basket for other things, but those will come soon. I want to show off my new lamps :D

But for now, I think I have plenty for one post. YAY!

By the way, everything after the picture of Tesla curled up on my desk looks different because that's when I figured out my ISO settings had been changed. Oops! I don't remember doing this. I choose to blame, uh, the tooth fairy.

It's true. Zach Braff makes me cry.

I just finished watching The Last Kiss (thanks, Netflix!) and yeah I cried. Just like Garden State.

Yeah yeah yeah, he didn't write/direct this one, but he picked a good movie to star in.

Like Garden State, it's about people and characters and their lives changing and it's impossible to sum up because of that. Impossible for me, anyways.

I need to go hug Tesla now.

IN OTHER NEWS. I cooked tonight! I made lazy sushi. Sushi rice, into a square pan with shredded fake crab in the middle, pressed flat, and cut into squares. Then I cut up avocado and cucumber, mixed up some wasabi/soy sauce stuff, and dug in. Take a square of rice, perch a bit of avocado on top, dip it in the wasabi/soy sauce stuff. Mmmmmm. It was really tasty, and super lazy. I have leftover squares, and some of the rice that didn't fit into the square pan went into a bowl with crab and avocado and cucumber, to be eaten later.

Guys, I missed cooking.

I have my furniture in my living room more or less where I want it. I've got two boxes left to unpack, and my shelves to set up, but most of the stuff is more or less where I want it. I should be able to get everything else done tomorrow, and then I'll take lots of pictures.

I got shoes today, for running. Hopefully they will help make it so running does not cause my ankle and knee immense pain, so I don't have to try to get a podiatrist to fix it. Here's hoping! I'm going to try it out Monday or Tuesday. I'm nervous about hoping for the shoes to work.

I think Tesla's fur is already starting to get lighter from her laying in the sun. It's all on her left side, the side that she usually faces to the sun. Did you guys know that the fur of a Siamese cat changes with temperature? It's so cool. Since the start of winter, her fur has gotten really really dark. I guess now that she is lounging in the sun all the time, some of her fur is lightening back up. And she's not even a full Siamese, she's part mutt! Cats are cool. And so pretty.

I just remembered the other thing I wanted to mention last night. Tesla! She is loving this apartment. I am very happy about this. She likes sitting in the windows, she likes the afternoon sun that comes in, and she especially likes my new comforter. She disappears underneath it and just hangs out under there. Nutty little kitty. She's not being clingy at all, and she's eating normally, and she's very content. Hurrah! I was a little worried she might not like the move.

Guys, be proud of me. I had fish for lunch. I'm still working on the whole "hey I don't really hate fish!" thing, so I went to Long John Silvers and got a fish/chicken combo thingy and actually ended up eating only the fish. It was pretty good! Also I got malt vinegar to put on the fries. Man I love malt vinegar. But anyways, yes! I had fish, and I enjoyed it! This is still a novel concept to me.

Also I called a place in Dallas that miiiiiiight be able to help me find shoes that would enable me to run without my bum ankle exploding. If they can't help me, I'll try the podiatrist. I'm gonna go there this weekend, hopefully.

Okay, back to the floor to work on this calendar.

Guys, moving is a lot of work.

I've been pretty exhausted since the weekend, thus the lack of posting. I'm slowly getting things unpacked. My books are unpacked, and my computer obviously, and about half of my kitchen stuff. I did two loads of laundry last night, I have 2-3 more in my trunk to do tomorrow. At some point I'm going to pick up a TV and I'm going to get my new entertainment center all set up, that will be cool.

I'm really tired.

I "beat" Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol last night. By "beat" I mean I saw the credits. There's still more to the game. I love that game. So ridiculous, really, but so cute and fun and wonderful.

I feel like I have more to say, but I'm just so tired. I'm going to bed.
