NaNoWriMo

It's getting close to that time of year, guys! I'm so excited. I can't wait. I kind of want to start posting my polls now, but I'm going to wait until probably mid-October. Unless I get really impatient. I really can't wait to see what I'm going to be writing.

I officially made my first preparations for NaNoWriMo today: I made my nano2009 folder in my Documents folder, so I could have a place to save the web badges they posted today. Next I'm going to update my wordcount spreadsheet for 2009, and investigate my options for polling by Twitter on the fly without having my phone flooded. I really wish there was an option to have all @ replies sent to a phone! Oh well.

Eeeeeeeee badges!!!!!!! I can't wait. I have already started scrawling down ideas too, but I also have a fallback plan (writing my failed 2005 idea from scratch, which I have almost 100% outlined already, except for the exact ending.) just in case that doesn't speak to me. My netbook is loaded up with Scrivener and READY TO WRITE, baby! I really want to try to do more writing out in the coffee shops and such...last year I ended up staying in my home office a lot.

I'm getting pretty amped about this, too - I've been doing a lot of research and character development to prepare for November. I've got a couple of loose plot threads as well, but I'm working without a net for this project and I love it. I just want to see where the characters take me.

Looking forward to these polls of yours! I'm hoping there's a "Sasquatch who solves crimes in post-Revolution France" option for which to vote. ;-)

i've got my "Notebook of Stuff" sitting around with several ideas. one idea, which may be my best yet, struck me out of the blue yesterday.
i'm interested to see how this goes with a newborn baby hanging around. I'm also interested to see how your polling goes. should be fun!
