DREAM POST TIME
May. 20th, 2007 12:24 pmOkay, so I had this dream a couple days ago.
I was at work, sitting outside by the company pool (that doesn't exist really) with some of the accounting ladies. No one was actually swimming, but we were all sitting on the edge with our feet in the water. For some reason,
rimwalker was there, soaking his feet as well. I looked at him and asked him why he had come all the way to Texas to soak his feet, when Hawaii has plenty of ocean all around in which to soak feets. Right as he was about to answer, lightning struck something in the distance, and it was so intense that a mushroom cloud formed over the strike site. Everyone decided that we should probably go inside since a storm was coming, so we went in. Only the inside wasn't like an office, it was like a school. I went into the International Department office/classroom and sat at one of the school desks.
rimwalker went somewhere else. We were all just sitting there (T was in the teacher's desk, which is very fitting) waiting for the storm to pass.
Then I woke up, it was 4am, and I really had to use the bathroom. I did so, then called myself at work and left a voicemail to post about this dream. It was a pretty funny voicemail, I sounded like I was drunk or something.
One thing I like to do with dreams is figure out where all the components came from. Here goes:
Accounting ladies - They rearrange the accounting office and it's WIERD. I went in a few days ago (while the rather cute) computer guy was installing a buncha updates on my computer), and just walked around going "Whoa". I've been in a couple times since and it's just weird.
Tyler and soaking feet - Probably because Tyler waswhining complaining angsting talking about his foot all last week.
Lightning - It is springtime in Texas. Lightning is a part of life.
Mushroom cloud - Yeah, I've watched most of this season of Heroes this week. There is a mushroom cloud involved in some of the early episodes.
School - I'm pretty stumped on this one. Maybe seeing Claire's school on Heroes? It was definitely a high school.
In other news, I just attempted to make these oatmeal-caramel-chocolate bars, but I think the recipe is not the one I am wanting. I am waiting for them to cool so I can cut them, but they seem way too crumbly. The batter/dough/whatever was way dry and there was nothing holding it together, and so I don't know if the bars will hold together, or if they will need to be eaten with a fork. Either way, they are not as moist as what I was aiming for, so :-( on them. But they have caramel, so they are pretty much guaranteed to be good. When I took them out of the oven, I put in a couple cloves of garlic. I'm going to roast them and smush them up and mix them in guacamole. My mouth is pretty much watering already.
In non-food news, I... uh. Have... not a lot to say. The rest of my weekend has been knitting and Heroes and Animal Crossing and playing the original Legend of Zelda on my Gameboy SP (guess what I coerced my brother into buying for me for my birthday?) and papasan chair. And listening to THE ELSE and loving it.
