SO!
I spent my lunch break reading about how the Texas Education Board people are going to vote soon on Scientific standards, and how there are already people pushing to get Creationist textbooks into schools because scientists are evil athiests out to eat our childrens, and then writing an email to my Board Member asking her to please please please keep science scientific.
Because, I'm sorry, you wouldn't teach history in math class, so please don't teach religion in science class, even if it IS my religion. It just waters down science, corrupts the scientific method, and teaches kids that you can call anything science if you want it to be true. Respect the science! America is already falling behind other countries in science and technology, where we used to be way ahead, which is just shameful.
So yeah, if you're in Texas, hit up that first link for ways to contact the Texas Board of Education and let them know that science doesn't need to be watered down anymore.
