HAIL

I'd forgotten how much driving through a hail storm SUCKS.

When I left (MY LAST) class, it was plenty cloudy to my north, but the sun was still shining brightly around me, so I got in my car and drove happily northward to my home. I noticed some awesome lightning strikes, but it was not raining so I had my windows down.

Then it monsooned again. As in "where did the car in front of me go?"

And then it started hailing. About pea-sized, think.

Guys, driving through hail is AWFUL. It's like lots of gunshots all around you. Between the monsoon, the OMG-I-can't-steer-my-car wind, and the hail, traffic pretty much crawled at about 10 mph for a few minutes because no one could see.

I REALLY hate driving through hail.

Really REALLY really. For real.

But then when I got home there was a lovely rainbow :D

In Austin, they drive like that when it's sprinkling. I think if it actually hailed here, people might get out of their cars and start looting to ensure they're prepared for the apocalypse (by having a big-screen TV).

I was actually impressed! The slowdown was pretty uniform. I mean, there were people weaving and changing lanes to "get ahead" at first, but once it got really truly nasty everyone behaved pretty well! I didn't know that was possible in Texas!

Also, the two fender-bender wrecks I saw, they moved to the side of the road to deal with it! THAT was shocking.
