jesso: (Hi.)
Hi Livejournal! I just woke up from a nap! That was probably a bad idea!

So last night I went to Megan's and we played 1000 Blank White Cards and it was pretty awesome. It was me, [livejournal.com profile] auracel (Megzilla), [livejournal.com profile] kandigurl (Jess), Anna, and Heidi (both of whom may or may not have LJs). We had a blast. I was a little afraid the cards would get boring and be just "you get/lose some number of points!" but they didn't. We had "Lung Cancer", complete with awesome drawing by Heidi, which caused you to lose a turn but you could keep it and give it to someone else, because that's what you do with lung cancer. We had "Pony Butt", with a picture of a pony's butt, which required the recipient to shake their butt to earn their points, and "Pick Your Friend's Nose" which was hilarious because no one would stop laughing long enough for Anna to pick Jess' nose. One of my favorites was the "OMG" card, which took 5,000 points from anyone whose name began with O, M, or G. Megan didn't like that one so much. There were also lots of card-spying and card-swapping cards made, and that made things pretty interesting.

TO SUM UP: 1000 Blank White Cards = AWESOME. We WILL be playing again.

Then I went home at approximately Way Too Late, then got up early this morning to go to [livejournal.com profile] iremembernot's graduation.

FUNNY STORY: Before I left, I noticed my cell phone batter was a bit low. Figuring I'd probably need my phone and not wanting it to die, I plugged it in while I was getting read. The whole time that it was not in it's Usual Place, I kept thinking "Oh man, I hope I don't forget my phone, I'd never find everyone at the graduation, and that would just suck and Lindsey would probably think I didn't really come and..." and other bad things. And so, of course, I forgot my phone when I left. I got a good couple miles away before I remembered, and had to turn back for it. So then I was late and yeah.

I texted [livejournal.com profile] thighofjustice to see where everyone was sitting, and eventually he replied so I went to the other side of the stadium. I ended up not sitting with them, but near them. Across the aisle from me was a girl from my high school! I promptly moved over by her and we caught up. Turns out she has an LJ too, [livejournal.com profile] mary_lennox, even though she doesn't use it much. That was really awesome, to see her. Between the Communication Disorder graduates and the Religion graduates, we sat and talked, much to the chagrin of the man in front of me who was videotaping the back of his daughter's head the entire time. Then we got up and cheered for Lindsey, and then kept chatting. We shared Dunbar Memories, which are a special kind of memory involving crazy teachers and crazy fellow students. Apparently, one guy I knew is going for his PhD in Biochemistry (I think?). This is not uncommon for Magnet students from Dunbar, really, but this is James we are talking about. I never really thought of him as the type to go for a PhD. So that boggled the mind a bit.

ANYWAYS. Then the graduation ended, I friended Angela via text-message-to-LJ, and she left. I met up with Lindsey's posse of family and friends (including [livejournal.com profile] motherofnormal, whom I've not seen in approximately forever), and we tracked her down outside and made plans to meet at her place before going to eat FOODZ. We ended up going to On The Border in another town, because all the places near Baylor were way booked. It was yummy.

Then I drove home, sat down to pet Tesla, and fell asleep. Oops.

Oh, and for the record, my DAD remembered my birthday. We went to dinner Friday night before I went to Megan's and at one point he asked what I wanted to do for my birthday. I told him I'd almost expected them to forget, and he said "Well, it's kind of hard to forget when it's programmed into my phone." Heh, I'd forgotten that I did that. I do that every time he gets a new phone, I program my birthday in with a message along the lines of "BUY YOUR FAVORITE DAUGHTER AN EXPENSIVE GIFT", set to recur every year. So I spoiled my own experiment. OH WELL. I will be getting a gym membership, though, so that is yay. Now I'll have the pressure of feeling like people are watching me to keep me from wussing out. Because if I stop too soon or go too easy, then clearly they will look at me and think "Ugh, now wonder she is so fat!" Hurrah for using my natural paranoia for my benefit! I love knowing how to manipulate myself :D

So that's that. I have had a busy weekend! And tomorrow I am going to my parent's place for Mom Day, and then at some point coming back for churching. I'm trying to figure out if I'll have time to try to make these oatmeal bar thingies I wanna try to make (Megan I think I found a recipe for those Dream Bars, btw). I hope I can. I should probably run the dishwasher so I'll have clean dishes to try it with.

Okay, I'll shut up now.

You haven't seen me in "approximately" forever either...

Yeah, it was good seeing you, too :-)

Actually, it was really good to see everyone. I've missed y'all.

Maybe Wednesday, but we are watching LOST. Thursday is tentative dinner with the parental units for birthday goodness, and Friday I wanna go to Crystals for more birthday goodness.

It is loads of fun. I'm hoping I can talk some people into playing it at SGE maybe perhaps.

Hey! I am looking to join a gym in the area, too!

Turns out my dad already has a membership to 24 Hour Fitness, so he can just add me to his account or whatever, so it looks like that's the one I'll be joining.

Awesome. I've never been to a 24HF, but I have some friends that have worked there and loved it.

Also, I used to be a personal trainer, so if you have questions about form, or programs, or anything really, let me know :)

I've tried 24H and Gold's, and 24H is far and away the better of the two.

So yeah, you're off to a good start I guess! Plus, I think your ability to use the ladies' locker room means you'll have to put up with far fewer old dudes drying off their balls in the hand dryers.

Hmm maybe I should have filled out the poll in your last entry AFTER reading this one... ;)

Anyway, 1000 blank white cards is awesome, and the cards you mentioned sound really funny ^_^ I wish my friends still played that game... they do, but they've turned it into a drinking game, and now nobody ever wants to play the regular kind with just points. It's a shame because then all the cards are about drinking, and generally not about getting people to do funny things like shake their butt. Wow how did I turn this comment into a rant about me. OK I'll shut up now... ^_^;

Heya! Just thought I'd drop a line and ask you how things are going with ya? I'm actually getting kind of bored now that my little 'vacation' has started - though I know I wouldn't change it for anything!

I'll be updating a lot now that it's summer, so I apologize in advance if my entries fill up your flist!

Oh and btw, happy belated birthday!
