In other, non-book related news-
- I signed up for Daring Cooks. I'm not quite brave enough for Daring Bakers yet, but I'm pretty confident in my cooking ability. The first challenge will be posted in a few weeks and I can't wait! I hope it is something awesome.
- My bathroom is so clean, it s*p*a*r*k*l*e*s. You need sunglasses in there, guys, it's that sparkly.
- Not only did I do my laundry today, but I got up early to do it. Well, 9am. That's early on a Saturday when I don't have to be anywhere. I had to set my alarm! And I did it so I could do laundry, which I hate! This is just further proof that I rock.
- Tomorrow I am going to read the next Sookie Stackhouse novel. The whole thing. It's only 342 pages. I have got to get caught up on my "To Read" stack!
- I still can't believe I actually woke up early so I could do laundry. This day should be marked on the calendar and celebrated worldwide. With parades. And balloons for everyone.
- I picked all the meat off my rotisserie chicken, and I am going to freeze the carcass so I can later make homemade stock, to use to make risotto. I've never had risotto before, and I've never made stock before, but I'm determined to do this because it sounds fancy and complicated. And all the cool
cooking kids do it, so clearly I need to.
- I have been awake for far too many hours. I meant to go to bed ages ago, but it kind of forgot to happen. Oops. Good night!

Date: 2009-03-30 01:25 am (UTC)From:For your stock - I'm not sure just how much 'oomph' rotisserie bones will have for it (since it's been rotating, most of the 'good' stuff (marrow, etc.) has dripped outta it)- you might wanna buy some cheap chicken parts (wings/thighs) to roast/broil and add to your stockpot. (Though best stock [mm..] is beef stock! Beef bones are so inexpensive so next time you're in the grocery store, hit up the butcher!
