We worked today, and we are working tomorrow! Today was a full 8-5 day, but tomorrow hopefully will not be so long. We are going in at 10, and I am hoping to leave by... oh... 10:30? Maybe? But probably not.

Today was actually fairly stressful! I was given a project that involved deciding how things should be set in the system, but it was all very subjective and opinion-based and involved things that I know nothing about. And to make it more exciting, I was given contradictory instructions at one point. But I bravely soldiered through it, and made it make sense to me. And if it is wrong, well, that's what they get for making me do it. So there :P

(Also the changes I made are not really tracked by the system so it won't have my initials all over it, that helped relieve the stress, plus it's the kind of thing that is so subjective that it's wildly inconsistent all the time anyways)

So! I am working this weekend, but I will have a pass to Not Work next weekend, so I can MOOOOVE. I am so excited! Four days! I can say that because it is after midnight and therefore it is technically Sunday.

I had something else to say, but I forgot.

Oh! But I do want to say this: One of my little side-goals for 2008 is to whine less in my journal. Like in this post, instead of whining about how stressful and worrisome this project was, I didn't whine, and even made light of it! I think that this will be a good thing because a) who wants to hear whining?, and b) making light of it reduces the stress for ME. So! It is my goal. So far I am successful! 6 days down, 360 to go!

Ahoy! I'm doing an Official Update on my [livejournal.com profile] mission101 list. The full list is here, but I'm going to make two lists in this entry: a list of things DONE, and a list of things with DEADLINES. I work better with a deadline, you see.

DONE )

Fourteen items! That's 13.86% of my list, done!

And now, the deadlines )

As for resolutions... The Year of Doing Big, Fun, Scary Things Together )

So basically, Hooray for doing things!

I just sent an email to the planetarium at the Pacific Science Center asking what the requirements are to work as a teacher in the planetarium, or just as a general science teacher person in the museum proper. I also asked what they look for specifically at their place. If I could work there, I would be fulfilling two dreams in one go- I'd be doing what I love AND living in Washington state.

(I used to be obsessed with the idea of moving to Washington. I remember applying to colleges just because they were in Washington. Seriously. Of course, this was before my parents told me that I wasn't going anywhere since I was graduating young. The obsession has lessened, but I would still looooooove to live up there. Or even Oregon. The northwest, anyhow.)

Also: I made salsa! It came out a little hotter than I usually like it, because I didn't remove the seeds from the jalapeƱos (I didn't have any gloves, so I didn't want to handle them a whole lot). I am glad I only used 3 of the 5 peppers the recipe called for. I'm going to divvy it up and add things to is, to experiment. I'm going to try adding sugar and pineapple, and see which I like best.

I also made tortilla chips from corn tortillas. They are delicious. I baked them in batches, and om nom nom.

I just realized I have not eaten today, except for the quarter of a piece of cake Megzilla brought me and the few chips I sampled (I had to make sure they were turning out okay, you see). I am kind of hungry. I am going to go eat something.
