You know those door-stopper thingies that are on walls behind doors, usually in houses? And they are basically just springs with rubber caps? And when you hit one it makes that "BWANGgggggggg" noise?

When I was small, I was terrified of those things. As in, I would run away screaming. At the top of my lungs. I don't remember it because I was so little at the time, but my mom has it on video.

Summer makes me cranky, because it is so freaking hot... but I think anyone reading my journal already knows that. The sun is evil and heat is bad.

The good news is that I've acquired a new thermostat, which I will be installing this weekend (provided I don't somehow electrocute myself). It's digital so I can see actual numbers instead of hoping that I have it set close to what I want, and it's programmable so I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it up during the day. And it was only $25 so when I move from this apartment I won't miss it.

(Not that I'm planning on moving anytime soon, I freaking love my apartment. I've got Plans for this place)

As for moving to a different climate, that is my goal. Someday, I will leave Texas behind, and probably make a rude gesture at it as I leave. I am not a Texan. I have lived here since I was 3, but I am not a Texan. I do not tolerate heat well, I suffer the North Texas Allergies of Doom, I hate pickup trucks and other over-sized vehicles, and I value things like courtesy and education.

YES. How cool would that be? To actually see everything and check out Heaven's pearly gates and get a really good picture of the place to replace the cartoony version? That would be so cool.

Looking at the answers for this, a lot of people are saying "no" for various reasons. They don't want to spoil the surprise, they don't want to find out if they are wrong, they don't believe in an afterlife so they think it would be a waste of a day to see nothing, etc. But man, I'd do it, in a heartbeat. I am a naturally curious person, so to see something that I literally will not see in my lifetime? Sign me up.

....okay, back to packing and cleaning.

Eragon. It's the only movie I've ever wanted to get a refund for. I sat through it, but barely. I mean, where the book was bad in the "Oh please please please stop describing every flower and sunrise" sort of way, the movie was bad in a "what, what just happened? WHAT ARE THEY SMOKING?" kind of way. For example, where the book detailed what happened during the X number of months where the dragon was growing up, the movie had the dragon suddenly explode into adulthood. You know, instead of doing a time montage or fading to "X number of months later" or something sensible.

Terrible, terrible movie.

Chocolate. Easy. Is this supposed to be a hard question?

That's not even a "OMG I LOOOOOVE MY PHONE I'D DIE WITHOUT IT" answer. My phone is handy and all, but I like it mostly because it is useful (and a little because it is shiny). I'm just not all that wild about chocolate. I kind of fail at that area of being a girl.

Other areas of "Being a Girl" in which I fail:
- Shoes (I only regularly wear one pair, though I do technically own three pairs)
- Clothes (I use my walk-in closet to store junk)
- Jewelry (I have one necklace and one ring. I only wear the necklace regularly.)
- Fashion (I have none)
- Taste in entertainment (Romance movies in general make me gag)

THINKGEEK.COM. Holy cow, my wishlist on there is currently at $1300, and there's probably even more stuff that I don't realize I need because I haven't browsed the site recently. I love tht site so much.

As for sharing, I would probably share some of the caffeinated candy I get. Probably.
